This kit from Makita features two best-in-class 40Vmax cordless XGT power tools. The kit is supplied with a mains wall charger to charge up the two included 40Vmax XGT Lithium-ion battery packs which each have a capacity of 2.5 Amp-hours. The kit is supplied with a heavy duty tool bag which has enough space for the two tools, two batteries, charger and still has plenty of room to add drilling and driving accessories.
The combination hammer drill in this pack is the HP001G, a drill with so much torque that the adjustable side handle (with integrated depth stop) is longer than the drill itself. It delivers 140 Nm of hard torque or 68 Nm of soft torque, with a limit set via adjustment wheel on the foot of the drill and numeric display to show you the current setting. There is a two speed mechanical gearbox to allow you to take best advantage of the brushless motor by prioritising power versus speed depending on your application.
The impact driver is the TD001G which has a 1/4" hex quick release bit holder. When you look at the size of the machine, you would be surprised to find that it delivers up to 220 Nm of fastening torque. The new control panel on the impact has a four speed mode selection switch plus 6 assist modes. Below the bit holder is a quick mode button that allows you to program one of the modes to it.
